Braised Pork with Kelp Knots
Pork is too expensive, bought 35 yuan's worth. No choice 👐
Ingredients
Pork belly400g
Star anise1 piece
Dark soy sauce1 spoon
Ginger2 slices
Light soy sauce2 spoons
Bay leaf1 piece
Cinnamon1 piece
Sugar2 spoons
Cooking wine3 spoons
Salt10
Oil10
Kelp knots100g
Sichuan peppercorns10 pieces

Cut the pork belly into chunks, blanch in cold water.

Prepare scallions, ginger, garlic, bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, and Sichuan peppercorns. Skip chili if you don't like spicy.

Heat oil in a pan, stir-fry pork belly until both sides are golden brown. Add cooking wine, 1 spoon of dark soy sauce, 2 spoons of light soy sauce, stir a few times, then add the cinnamon and other spices and stir-fry a few more times.

Add water, bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 40 minutes on low heat. Add salt and sugar, simmer for another 10+ minutes.

Add kelp knots, simmer until most of the liquid is gone, then turn up the heat to reduce the sauce. Plate and enjoy!!

Cooking Tips
1. Always add hot water when adding water. 2. Keep an eye on the water level in the whole process takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes.
