Decorate the head with the white circles to form eyes. Use a small amount of dark red dough, deflate, flatten, and cut out slightly larger circles to make blush. Place the prepared buns 3cm above warm water for proofing until they slowly rebound when lightly pressed. Steam for 18 minutes over medium-low heat, then turn off the heat and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid.

Similarly, decorate the head with white circles as eyes. Use a small amount of light pink dough, deflate, flatten, and cut out slightly larger circles to make blush. With the remaining dough, create a small red flower to avoid wastage. Place all buns 3cm above warm water for proofing until they slowly rebound when lightly pressed. Steam for 18 minutes over medium-low heat, then turn off the heat and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid.

Cooking Tips

[Peppa Pig Bun Weights] Head: 23g Body: 10g Ears: 1g each (2 total, 2g needed) Eyes: 0.2g each (2 total, 2g needed) Blush: 0.3g Key points to note: 1. When shaping, deflate and smooth out each dough piece thoroughly before proceeding to the next step. During shaping, the dough continues to ferment, creating many small air holes. To achieve a smooth finished product, ensure air bubbles are expelled by squeezing or kneading the dough thoroughly. Without proper deflation, the steamed buns may have small bubbles or uneven surfaces. 2. Cover the dough with plastic wrap during the process to prevent it from drying out.
