Cartoon Steamed Buns (Peppa Pig \\u0026 Suzy Sheep)
The recipe can make 3 Peppa Pig buns, 2 Suzy Sheep buns, and 1 small red flower
Ingredients
Steps
Mix all ingredients except the red yeast rice powder into a smooth dough. Separate out 55g of white dough. Take 100g and add a small amount of red yeast rice powder to knead into light pink dough. Take another 40g and knead into a slightly darker red dough.
Start preparing the Peppa Pig shapes. Divide the pink dough into three 25g parts.
Take one piece of pink dough, deflate it, and shape it into an oval. Press it slightly flat.
Use scissors to cut out the shape as shown in the image.
Cut out about 2g of dough and divide it into two 1g small dough pieces. Deflate and shape each into tiny droplets.
Place these at the upper portion of the dough to form ears. Pinch off a tiny piece of dough (about 0.2g), shape it into a small circle, and place it at the nose position. Repeat with the other two pink dough pieces.
Next, divide the red dough into three 10g portions.
Deflate completely and shape each portion into a droplet.
Place them at the lower part of the head, using milk to assist with adherence. Assemble the body parts for the other two pieces in the same way.
Now prepare the Suzy Sheep shapes. Divide the white dough into two 23g portions.
Deflate each portion and shape into droplets.
Next, prepare the ears by dividing white dough into four 1g small portions.
Deflate, roll, and shape them into ear shapes.
Divide the pink dough into two 10g portions, deflate and shape them into droplets.
Place the pink parts below the white parts, using milk to help with adhesion. Assemble in the same manner.
Finally, deflate the white dough, flatten it, and cut out 10 small circles using a piping tip.
Decorate the head with the white circles to form eyes. Use a small amount of dark red dough, deflate, flatten, and cut out slightly larger circles to make blush. Place the prepared buns 3cm above warm water for proofing until they slowly rebound when lightly pressed. Steam for 18 minutes over medium-low heat, then turn off the heat and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid.
Similarly, decorate the head with white circles as eyes. Use a small amount of light pink dough, deflate, flatten, and cut out slightly larger circles to make blush. With the remaining dough, create a small red flower to avoid wastage. Place all buns 3cm above warm water for proofing until they slowly rebound when lightly pressed. Steam for 18 minutes over medium-low heat, then turn off the heat and wait 5 minutes before removing the lid.
Once steamed, use a black food coloring pen to draw the eyes and nostrils, and a red food coloring pen to draw the mouth. The Peppa Pig and Suzy Sheep buns are ready!
