Ingredients

High-gluten flour200g
Granulated sugar40g

Egg wash40g

Yeast2.5g

Almond slicesAs needed (for surface decoration)

Steps

Knead the dough using the post-oil method until it reaches the expansion stage, then let it ferment in a warm place.

After the first fermentation, divide the dough into 2 pieces each of 20g, 35g, 50g, and 60g. Round them along with the remaining dough and let them rest for 15 minutes.

Roll the rested dough into a circular shape, then make marks to divide it into six equal parts.

Cut through the center but do not cut all the way through.

Open the dough and make two cuts at each marked section, with the tip uncut, forming six connected small triangles. Link the two ends together and place them on a baking sheet. Let them proof in a warm, humid place.

Once cooled, sift powdered sugar over and stack them in descending order of size.

Cooking Tips

1. The little star on top of the Christmas tree was made using a cookie cutter, but you can use other decorations instead. 2. If the small star won't stay in place, you can use some kind of adhesive, like egg whites, to stick it to the tree.
