Coke Chicken Wings (Even the Ginger Threads Are Delish)

My ex-boyfriend reached out two years after our breakup asking if I could make Coke Chicken Wings for him one more time. Try it yourself to see how good it is! Two of my friends once said they’ll never eat such delicious wings in this lifetime again! Answering a few questions: 🖤 Did you do it in the end? 💙 Yes, I did. 🖤 Why did you still make it for him? 💙 There was no hatred after the breakup; it was amicable. Darlings, if you’re satisfied, please give me a five-star review, hahaha 😂 Ginger threads must be fried until they shrink by half and turn caramel-colored! Slice them thinly.

Time:30~60 minutes

Add oil to the pan and pan-fry the chicken wings on low heat. Start with the side with more fat for better crispiness.

When both sides of the chicken wings turn golden, and the ginger threads look like this, you're good to go. Don't rush; slow cooking makes it tastier, haha.

Add 1.5 tablespoons of light soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of supreme soy sauce, and more than half a bottle of Coke (just enough to barely cover the chicken wings — don't add too much, or it’ll be too sweet).

This is the type of spoon I used.

Bring to a boil over high heat, then simmer for 10 minutes. Start reducing the sauce until it looks like this (it's okay to reduce it further if desired). Pay close attention during reduction — it’s easy to mess up. When you hear sizzling sounds, it’s almost ready. Add a few drops of sesame oil for extra aroma.

Cooking Tips

The purer the flavors, the better the taste. Even though the ingredients are simple, ginger and Coke are a match made in heaven. After the sauce reduction, there won’t be much liquid left. My plate is flat, which makes it seem like there’s more sauce.
