Fried Peanuts
Frying peanuts may seem simple, but it actually requires a bit of skill! The key is to use low heat throughout and keep stirring constantly! Once you master this technique, anyone can fry crispy and fragrant peanuts! Peanuts are also versatile and can be used in various dishes. Add a spoonful when making cold dishes, stir-fries, or spicy crab—wow! The aroma is amazing! Let's stop talking and start frying peanuts now!
Ingredients
Steps
Rinse the peanuts and dry them with kitchen paper for later use.
Wipe the pan dry with a kitchen paper towel! It must not have any water! Turn on the heat! Use low heat throughout!
Start with a cold pan and cold oil.
Pour the peanuts into the pan with cold oil and keep stirring! (Don’t stop stirring!)
After about 3 minutes, the peanuts will start making popping sounds! Some peanut skins will crack, and the peanuts will also darken in color!
Continue stirring for another minute and then turn off the heat! The peanuts may still be slightly undercooked at this point. Keep stirring for another minute as the residual heat from the oil will finish cooking them!
Transfer the peanuts to a plate lined with kitchen paper and spread them out to cool.
After the peanuts have cooled, mix them with salt, and they’re ready to eat!
If you prefer them sweet, you can mix them with sugar instead!
I usually fry a larger batch! Once cooled, store them in an airtight glass jar. Add a spoonful to cold dishes, cold noodles, or spicy and sour noodles—it’s incredibly delicious! (Do not mix salt into the peanuts if you're storing them in a sealed container!)
