Ladyfingers (with Video)
Hello everyone, I’m Yami. As I’m preparing to make the super delicious Tiramisu, I’ll first introduce the recipe for ladyfingers. They are great on their own—very tasty and oil-free, making them perfect as a light snack. For the Tiramisu recipe, refer to the next video.
Ingredients
Steps
Separate the egg whites and yolks. Use another clean bowl for separation. If you encounter a broken yolk, it won’t ruin the previously separated eggs.
Whip the egg whites; when bubbles form, add all the sugar and continue whipping.
Continue until clear lines appear, and you can lift the whisk to form stiff peaks.
Add the egg yolks and continue whipping.
Whip until the egg yolks and whipped egg whites are well combined.
Sift in the low-gluten flour and gently fold the mixture.
Transfer the batter into a piping bag. Pipe about five-centimeter-long strips onto a baking tray. I used a Wilton 1A nozzle, but you can also cut a round opening in the piping bag.
Dust with powdered sugar and let it sit for 1 minute. After the powdered sugar is absorbed, dust again. The powdered sugar will form a light crunchy shell on the surface, making it tastier and more appealing.
After sprinkling the powdered sugar, place the tray in a preheated oven at 200°C (top and bottom heat) and bake for 10-12 minutes.
