Mapo Tofu
In summer, I often feel a lack of appetite, and nothing seems to taste good. That's when a comforting and flavorful dish like Mapo Tofu comes to the rescue! Loved by almost everyone, this dish is absolutely perfect with rice—spicy, numbing, savory, and aromatic, with all the rich spices in play. While it's incredibly delicious, there's one downside: the aftertaste can be a bit strong, with burps full of garlic and onion flavors. But don't worry, my friend has a solution for me—Wrigley’s Original Peppermint Gum Cubes! Now I can enjoy this dish for lunch at work without any worries. Just pop one after eating, and your breath stays fresh—no one will guess what you had for lunch! These tiny gum cubes are super portable and have a soft texture, so ladies don’t need to worry about excessive chewing making their jaw muscles bigger. 👉 Click the link to get my post-meal freshness hack: https://daojia.jd.com/html/index.html?fenxiang=true&h5_pageId=activityPage#activityPage/actNativeId:11997845&channel=xiachufangzaowushi From August 14 to September 4, save my recipe for a chance to win a Wrigley’s fan appreciation gift pack! Ingredients
Steps
Prepare all ingredients. Mince ginger and garlic finely for better flavor, and chop green onions into segments.
Carefully remove soft tofu from its packaging and cut into 1x1 cm cubes.
Bring water to a boil in a pot, then reduce heat to low and add tofu along with a spoonful of salt. Simmer for one minute to remove any bean odor. Carefully remove and drain excess water. (Tip: High heat may break the tofu and ruin its appearance.)
Heat oil in a pan, then add minced pork and stir-fry until fragrant.
Add Pixian chili bean paste and stir-fry, followed by minced ginger, garlic, dried chili segments, and cooking wine.
Add the blanched tofu, then season with sesame oil, light soy sauce, sugar, white pepper, and Sichuan peppercorn powder.
Thicken the sauce with 30ml of cornstarch slurry.
Garnish with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds for extra flavor.
Keep a box of Wrigley’s Original Peppermint Gum Cubes nearby—no worries no matter how much you eat!
After the meal, pop one Wrigley’s gum cube for fresh breath all day!
