The method is very simple. Using a microwave, it takes only three rounds of four minutes each to easily make delicious cherry preserves.

Fresh cherries300g
White sugar50g

Lastly, microwave again on high for four minutes. At this stage, check to see that there is basically no juice left in the container. Any remaining should be stored in a sealed jar and refrigerated. Consume within one week.

Cooking Tips

1. After the first round of heating, pour out the juice. This will help the remaining liquid evaporate quickly during the subsequent heating. Stir after every four minutes of heating to ensure the cherries are evenly heated. 2. If you prefer some residual juice, you may skip pouring out the juice in step 5. 3. Microwave power levels vary by brand. My microwave has a power of 750W, so the heating times listed here are only for reference. Adjust based on how much liquid is left—the goal is to reduce the liquid until it is barely visible.
