Osmanthus Sweet Fermented Rice

Ingredients

Red Dates and Goji BerriesA small handful
Sweet Fermented Rice3-5 tablespoons (based on taste)
Dried OsmanthusHalf a tablespoon (or osmanthus sugar)
Glutinous Rice Flour100g (for making small rice balls)
Glutinous Rice Flour (or lotus root starch)2-3 tablespoons (mixed with a little cold water to thicken)

If you don’t have ready-made glutinous rice balls, you can use a small amount of glutinous rice flour, add a bit of water, and knead into a dough of proper consistency.

Then pinch it into small pieces.

Roll each piece into a small ball.

First, boil enough water in a pot and add the goji berries and red dates.

Once the water starts boiling, add the small rice balls.

Cook until the rice balls float to the surface.

Add the prepared sweet fermented rice; if it’s for yourself, don’t hesitate to add a bit more.

Once it boils again, add the lotus root starch or glutinous rice flour mixture that has been pre-mixed with cold water.

Stir quickly in the pot with a spoon as you add the mixture to prevent clumping or unevenness. Then sprinkle some osmanthus sugar or dried osmanthus for aroma before turning off the heat.
