Simple version. Can be paired with waffles, pancakes, ice cream, bread, and more... Sweet and tangy, very delicious.

Wash the strawberries and pat them dry with kitchen paper. Remove the stems with a small knife, then cut them in half.

Add the granulated sugar.

Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

Preheat the oven to 220°C. Take the strawberries out of the refrigerator and spread them evenly in a water- and oil-free nonstick baking tray.

Bake on the middle-upper rack at 220°C with top and bottom heat for 20-30 minutes until the strawberry juice simmers slightly and the strawberries become soft and darker.

Once completely cooled, store in a sealed jar in the refrigerator.
