Spicy Beef Pizza
When I first started baking, I didn’t know how to adapt recipes, and I thought missing one seasoning would make it less authentic. Of course, back then, as long as there weren’t any mistakes, the outcome was still 'original'. One time, I made pizza, and my niece said, 'It tastes just like Pizza Hut!' She felt eating Pizza Hut was a waste of money! Actually, adapting ingredients allows us to enjoy delicious food more simply. Every summer, my son isn't interested in 'Journey to the West' or 'My Fair Princess' but will 'review' 'Garfield’s Happy Life'. That fat cat brings us a lot of joy, and Victoria’s Pizza is Garfield’s favorite, so my son kept demanding 'Spicy Sausage Pizza'... Since we had beef at home, I thought it was healthier and safer than sausages, so I adapted it into this simple Spicy Beef Pizza. Ingredients make one 9-inch pizza.
Ingredients
Steps
Put all dough ingredients into the bread machine: water, salt, sugar, oil first; then bread flour, and lastly yeast.
Knead the dough evenly and place it into a bread pan or other container. Cover with cling film and ferment until a small poke won’t collapse or shrink.
Dice the beef into small pieces. I used about 100g, which was enough for a large pizza. Adjust based on your preference. Slice green and chili peppers thinly.
Punch the fermented dough to release air, let it rest for a few minutes, then press it into an oiled pizza pan to make an even base. Leave the edges slightly thicker.
Prick the base and spread with pizza sauce.
Add a layer of cheese, then sprinkle diced beef and sliced chili peppers.
Sprinkle another generous layer of cheese on top. I used less because I’m on a diet, but the more cheese you use, the better the flavor.
I used the Bakeey PE5380 oven. Set it to pizza mode at 170°C (338°F) for both upper and lower heating, preheated for 10 minutes, and baked for 20 minutes. This worked well. I’ll experiment more with my oven settings next time.
