Cheese Bacon Asparagus Rolls
This dish looks quite beautiful and is not difficult to make. It’s an absolute showstopper as a guest dish if you have visitors. You just need to prepare and roll it in advance, then pan-fry it when needed, making it very convenient and foolproof. It can also double as afternoon tea snack. Besides asparagus, you can also wrap enoki mushrooms, crab sticks, or anything you like.
Ingredients
Steps
Trim away the tough ends of the asparagus, wash and cut into sections. Bring a pot of water to a boil, first add the tougher parts, then add salt and oil.
After about 20 seconds, add the tender parts and cook for another 40-50 seconds.
Turn off the heat, remove the asparagus and immerse it in cool boiled water.
Cut the bacon strips in half and the cheese block horizontally in half. Place the cheese on the bacon.
Remove the asparagus sections, blot dry with a kitchen towel, and place them on top (you can put two or three sections of asparagus).
Roll it up from one side.
Secure the roll with a toothpick.
You can also secure it this way.
All rolls are ready.
Heat a pan over medium heat, add a small amount of oil, and place the rolls into the pan to fry (remove the toothpicks as you place them, with the sealed side down). Carefully flip them with chopsticks until lightly golden all around.
Remove and plate (if you like, sprinkle some black pepper).
