Broccoli Christmas Tree
In addition to the 3D fruit Christmas tree we talked about earlier, we can also make a 2D Christmas tree. This time, we used the fitness superstar—broccoli. The finished Christmas tree looks so cute, you'd never think it was made from plain boiled broccoli... Actually, if you add some mayonnaise, cream sauce, or white salad dressing, you can create more of a festive atmosphere. But today, we're focusing on healthiness. Now, let's take a look at the ingredients~~
Ingredients
Steps
Break the broccoli into small florets and wash thoroughly. Keep the stem; do not discard. Bring water to a boil in a pot, add salt, and cook the broccoli until done.
After boiling, cool the broccoli with some cold water (this step can be skipped but makes the color look better). Cut the broccoli stems into a tapered shape, and slice the boiled florets in half.
Layer the broccoli to build the tree, hiding the stems behind the top layer. Use small broccoli florets to fill in any gaps at the end.
Place cherry tomatoes on the Christmas tree as decorations. You can also cut some strips of lemon peel to decorate the tree.
Unlike the 3D Christmas tree, this one requires the star on top to be thicker for better proportion on the plate. You can use lemon, pineapple, starfruit, and so on.
Before serving, drizzle some olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Voilà—a super healthy Christmas salad appetizer!
