Ingredients
Steps
Separate the egg yolks and whites, and chill the egg whites in the refrigerator. Make sure there is no yolk and no water in the bowl for the egg whites.
Take 50 g of orange juice, add 30 g of vegetable oil, and whisk to emulsify.
Sift in 60 g of cake flour and mix until no dry flour remains.
The batter will be relatively thick; then add the egg yolks. Mix the batter and yolks until well combined.
Finally add the chopped orange zest and mix evenly.
Add the sugar to the egg whites in three additions, for a total of 30 g of sugar (you can skip the sugar if it’s for small children). Whip until stiff peaks with small hooks form and the peaks stand upright (make sure it is fully whipped).
First add one-third of the meringue to the batter and gently fold until combined.
After folding well, pour the batter back into the remaining meringue and fold until evenly combined. The final batter should be light and uniform.
Slice the orange, pat dry the surface moisture, and place the slices in a 6-inch mold.
Pour the batter into the 6-inch mold and tap it to release air bubbles. Bake in a preheated oven at 150°C for about 45–50 minutes.
After taking it out, gently tap the mold, then cool it upright before unmolding (if you invert it, the oranges may squash the cake).
The orange cake comes out perfectly~
Delicate and delicious~
