Rose-shaped Steamed Dumplings
My whole family are meat lovers, so I used an all-meat filling. You can mix the filling according to your own preferences. If you really don't know how to season a filling, you can simply scramble some eggs and use that as well! This method is easy enough for anyone, no special skills required. This recipe makes six large steamed dumplings.
Ingredients
Steps
Lay 4 dumpling wrappers in a straight line, each overlapping the previous one by half.
Place the prepared filling along the center of the wrappers, leaving about half a wrapper’s width empty at both ends.
Fold the bottom half of the wrappers up to meet the top edges, aligning them neatly.
Roll the folded wrappers from left to right into a log.
Stand the roll upright. Dip the tail end in water and press it onto the base of the rose to seal. A beautiful rose shape will appear. If you’re a perfectionist, you can further adjust the shape. Even if you’re not good with your hands, it will still look pretty without extra shaping.
Once all the rose dumplings are formed, place them in the steamer and steam.
This is how they look after steaming.
Beautiful and delicious.
